Updates & Maintenance

Keeping your PanelOps instance up-to-date ensures you have the latest security patches, container manifests, and framework buildpack enhancements.

1. Automatic One-Click Updates

Customer Nodes feature an in-panel Update Center:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Update Center (/update).
  2. The panel performs an asynchronous signature check against the authoritative release server (https://panelops.online).
  3. If an update is available, click Install Update.
  4. The background script apply-update.sh executes the update atomically:
    • Downloads the new verified release archive.
    • Verifies SHA-256 and GPG checksums.
    • Backs up current runtime binaries to /opt/panelops/backup/.
    • Performs a clean hot-swap and triggers systemctl restart panelops.
    • Runs a post-swap health probe gate at /health to confirm success.

2. Terminal-Based Update

You can also trigger an update from the command line:

curl -fsSL https://panelops.online/update.sh | sudo bash

3. Database & App Store Maintenance

  • Docker Prune: Clean up dangling images, unused builder caches, and orphaned networks from Containers → Prune Unused Resources.
  • Backup Verification: Always maintain automated volume snapshots before major kernel upgrades under Backups → Automated Policies.
