Documentation Managed Databases & DbGate

Cloud-Ready Managed Databases

PanelOps provides a centralized database management system that lets you deploy, monitor, backup, and browse database instances across all your connected servers.

🗄️ Supported Database Engines

  • MySQL (8.0+)
  • PostgreSQL (14+, 15+, 16+)
  • MariaDB (10.x, 11.x)
  • MongoDB (6.0+, 7.0+)
  • Redis (7.x In-Memory Data Store)

📦 App Store Auto-Registration

Whenever an application is installed via the App Store that requires a database (such as WordPress with MariaDB, Ghost with MySQL, or Nextcloud with PostgreSQL), the internal database container is automatically:

  1. Assigned a dedicated host port in the safe range (13306-65000).
  2. Populated with credentials and connection strings in the Managed Databases (/databases) inventory.
  3. Linked to the InstalledApp record with a 1-click "App: [Name]" badge.

🚀 1-Click Web Studio (DbGate Integration)

PanelOps bundles DbGate — a fast, modern web-based database client:

  • Click "Browse DB" on any database card.
  • PanelOps spins up an isolated DbGate session and logs you in securely via the internal Docker network.
  • Run raw SQL queries, browse collections and documents, edit rows inline, and export data without opening database ports to the public internet!

💾 Automated & Manual Backups

  • 1-Click Snapshots: Create immediate Gzip-compressed dumps of your databases (.sql.gz, .dump, or .tar.gz).
  • Scheduled Backups: Configure hourly, daily, or weekly backup schedules with retention policies.
  • Google Drive Sync: Automatically upload database snapshots to your configured Google Drive account for off-site disaster recovery.
  • 1-Click Restore: Revert to any prior snapshot in the Backups tab.
