Have questions before subscribing? We’ve compiled answers to the most common questions below.
What is the difference between PanelOps Cloud and PanelOps Self-Hosted?
PanelOps Cloud is our hosted control plane where you can register an account, add your servers, and manage multi-server fleets from a single browser interface without hosting the control panel software yourself. PanelOps Self-Hosted is installed directly onto your server via a single shell script, keeping everything (panel, database, orchestration, logs) 100% on your own hardware with complete sovereignty.
What operating systems are supported for self-hosting?
The official PanelOps installer supports Ubuntu 20.04/22.04/24.04, Debian 11/12, CentOS 8/9 Stream, AlmaLinux 8/9, Rocky Linux 8/9, and Fedora. Both x86_64 and aarch64 (ARM64) architectures are fully supported.
What are the minimum hardware requirements?
For a Customer VPS Node running PanelOps, the minimum requirements are 1 vCPU core, 1 GB of RAM (with low-memory optimization mode), and 3 GB of available disk space. Docker and basic utilities are automatically installed by the installer script if they are not already present.
How do 1-click App Store installations work?
The PanelOps App Store features 188+ verified production Docker manifests. When you choose an application (such as WordPress, Nextcloud, N8N, or Uptime Kuma), PanelOps automatically checks for free host ports to avoid conflicts, sets up persistent volumes, configures required environment variables and database connections, and starts the container stack in seconds.
How does SSL certificate generation and renewal work?
PanelOps integrates with Let's Encrypt ACME to automatically request and install SSL certificates for your custom domains via HTTP-01 verification. A daily background cron job tracks expiration dates and automatically renews all certificates 30 days before they expire.
Can I connect existing Docker containers or websites?
Yes! PanelOps includes container discovery and reverse proxy mapping tools that allow you to manage existing Docker containers alongside applications deployed through the panel. You can inspect logs, monitor resource consumption, and map custom domains with SSL.
What payment methods are supported for PanelOps Cloud plans?
PanelOps Cloud supports multi-chain cryptocurrency deposits (USDT and USDC on Tron TRC20, Ethereum ERC20, and Polygon PoS) as well as manual bank wire transfers and Wise/ACH direct payments for annual or enterprise plans.
Is my data private when using the Self-Hosted edition?
Completely private. The Self-Hosted edition stores all databases, configurations, environment variables, credentials, and logs locally on your server. No private server data or secrets are transmitted externally.
