File Manager & Web Terminal

PanelOps includes a built-in browser-based file manager and interactive terminal, giving you full remote server administration capabilities without requiring external desktop software like PuTTY or FileZilla.

📁 Web File Manager

Navigate to Files (/files) on any connected server to manage the remote filesystem:

• Browse & Navigate: Fast navigation across directory hierarchies (/root, /var/www, /home, etc.).
• File Editor: Built-in code editor with syntax highlighting for .env, .conf, .yml, .json, .js, .py, .sh, and configuration files.
• Upload & Download: Drag-and-drop file and directory uploads.
• Archive Operations: Create and extract .zip and .tar.gz archives on the remote host with zero download delay.
• Permissions & Ownership: Inspect and modify Unix file permissions (chmod) and ownership (chown).

💻 Web Terminal Emulator (xterm.js)

Navigate to Servers → [Your Server] → Terminal to open a full-featured terminal emulator:

• Direct SSH Stream: Runs an interactive pseudo-terminal (PTY) piped securely over WebSockets using xterm-256color.
• Full Keyboard Support: Supports standard shortcut keys (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+Z, Tab auto-completion, nano, vim, htop, mc).
• Zero Software Installation: Access your server console from any browser, tablet, or mobile device securely.
